Seminar on Plumbing and Structural Deficiencies I attended a class on Plumbing and Structural Deficiencies that surprisingly enough was interesting! I guess my home remodeling has paid off and I am more knowledgeable than I thought! What I learned today was that home inspectors are a necessity and a do a great service for us as realtors and for buyers and sellers. My most recent buyers requested that they did their own home inspection as they are in the construction business and "know what to look for". What I learned after following them around for 2 hours and trying to write down what they said was wrong was this. When you use a home inspector they kind of lead you and tell you what needs to be done - which is fantastic. They know when a specialist or a engineer needs to be brought in. Without the assistance of a home inspector - you may know that something is not right - but you may not know what route to take to fix it. I will continue to encourage my buyers to get home inspections! I have a newfound respect for the work that they do . Heck - just crawling in those crawl spaces is too much for me.
